During the past 26 years, the Barrington Area Council on Aging has been the primary organization in the Barrington area that assists our growing population of seniors and family caregivers as they deal with issues related to aging.
None of this would be possible without the help of our community. BACOA is a not-for-profit 501 (c) 3, and private contributions are a critical resource for us to provide these important services and programs.
Partner with BACOA
Partners in Caring is a partnership of donors dedicated to supporting our mission. More than 90 percent of our funding is from private contributions made by the generous Barrington community: business, foundations, the Barrington Area United Way, service organizations and individuals.

Legacy Society
A bequest is an excellent way to support BACOA while enjoying substantial tax advantages. One of the easiest ways for you to make a gift to BACOA is through a bequest, a provision in your will naming BACOA as recipient of a portion of your estate. This can be a sum of money, a percentage of your estate, a specific item - such as a work of art - or real estate.
By including BACOA in your estate and financial plans, you become a member in the Legacy Society. As a member, you will receive an invitation to our annual donor recognition reception and a listing in the Legacy Society honor roll. We will honor your preferences regarding the details of your bequest, and all information that you share with us will be held in the utmost confidence.
Special Gifts
Memorial Gifts
A memorial gift is a lasting testimony to the life of a beloved family member or friend who has passed on - and can provide comfort and compassion to someone who has had a loss.
Honor Gift
An honor gift is a wonderful way to celebrate the special people and events in your life. A special card will be sent to notify recipients that a gift was made in their honor.
Make a difference with a match!
You can often double or triple your gift with matching funds provided by your employer. Check with your company's human resources department to learn if your company offers a matching gift option.
