Trips
BACOA, The Garlands of Barrington and Collette Vacations are offering a variety of international tours in the coming year. Among the trips that will be offered:
- "Beijing City Stay"
Departure date: October 21, 2008. Explore the capital of the People’s Republic of China. The nine-day trip includes tours of the Summer Palace and the Beijing Zoo; a trip to the Great Wall; and even a performance of the Peking Opera. Cost is $1,769 (double). - Europe's Christmas Markets
Departure date: December 5, 2008. Do your holiday shopping at world-famous Christmas markets in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and France. The nine-day trip will include stops in Oberammergau, Innsbruck, Strasbourg and Bern, among other cities; as well as travel through the Bavarian Alps and the Black Forest. Cost is $2,199 (double).
BACOA and the Barrington Park District have partnered with Mayflower Tours to offer a selection of motorcoach and train tours. They include:
- New York City
Departure date: November 2, 2008. The six-day trip includes stops in Pennsylvania and Ohio as well as three nights in Manhattan, tours of Ellis Island and Rockefeller Center, and New York sightseeing. Cost is $1,699 (double) - Islands of the Palm Coast.
Departure date: March 6, 2009. Sunny beaches, ocean views, and historic vistas will be on the itinerary of this nine-day trip. The motorcoach tour will include visits to St. Augustine, Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach, as well as stops in Montgomery Alabama, and an optional trip to Orlando. Cost is $1,149 (double).
Mayflower offers a "Guaranteed Share Program," which can provide a roommate for tours.
